DJing & Music Curation

I started DJing in early 2000s London as part of Amplified with whom I helped organize events for the likes of The Roots, spun for artists like Erykah Badu, and experimented with African street sounds a decade before we started calling them afrobeats. Upon moving to Accra, I became one of the first DJs to champion songs from Accra’s alternative music scene.

I have since hosted numerous shows on Ghanaian radio stations including on Vibe FM, YFM, and Joy FM, where I pioneered the social media blueprint most Ghanaian radio stations follow today. I have also co-hosted podcasts including LO-LIFE: my series documenting the recent history of Ghana’s alternative music scene (which is also the subject of my doctoral studies and research).
