Teaching.
I love teaching.
I bridge theory and practice, and try to move my students beyond social apathy toward an African-rooted social empathy. My courses span African studies, popular culture, media, and digital cultures, running the gamut from the history of afrobeats to political theory, digital identity, and AI ethics. I challenge my students to see themselves as not just receivers of culture but its future architects. If you can create culture, you can change it, and if you can shift culture, you can help change society. I teach by any means necessary, blending personal experience, humour, and a mix of films, music videos, tweets, podcasts, and more. Learning is a two-way street I walk alongside my students. My classroom is a space for critical thinking, questioning, and debate: challenge me, challenge the world.
I hold an LL.B in Law and an MA in International Studies & Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
Places & Things I’ve Taught
Stanford University (April 2025)
I was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Department of African & African-American Studies (DAAAS). Invited by Professor Ato Quayson to present a lecture series on a subject of my choice, I used afrobeats and highlife as pedagogical tools to trace Ghana’s history and politics, blending scholarship with sound.
